WHY DO I MAKE PLAYLISTS?
Music is often the overlooked ingredient that can make any experience or event even richer. Have you ever been sitting at an Italian restaurant and they’re playing Top 40 instead of Louis Prima and Sinatra? Your spaghetti carbonara would taste even better if “Antonio’s” could have just gotten dinner for two’s soundtrack right! Music is how we set a stage and create an ambience. It’s the difference between feeling like a million bucks walking into work on Monday, and….just not. (Hint: Play “Sauce by Naïka” during your commute next time) I believe in having a playlist for every occasion, and no occasion is too small, ok? After all, Sunday night sounds different than Thursday afternoon. Because it feels different! Any for every feeling, I have a song for that. I’ve been an avid listener and lover of music since I was a pre-teen. I was never able to really nail down my favorite artist, genre, or song because I was consuming and loving everything across the board—from country to rap, the golden oldies to alternative rock. I have a soft spot for soft rock, and have never stopped making up silly dance routines to Pop. From all my years of keeping an open mind and even more open ears when it comes to music—I’ve kind of made a vast catalog in my head that lets me recall hundreds and hundreds of songs to convey the perfect mood and message. I absolutely LOVE doing it!
