Kitchen open shelving is one of my favorite things to gather inspo for, pin, and drool over while scrolling Instagram. I think it brings me back to my studio days! I had all my food photography props lined up on 8 foot long wooden shelves and it brought me so much joy to see them every day! Later, my sister Julie opened up my world to what functional decor meant, and its place in the kitchen. Last summer, we took down a big box oak cabinet in our kitchen and replaced it with 2 pine shelves with pretty brass brackets. They’re mostly loaded with the plates, bowls and glasses we use every day, but adding little prints, plants, and hanging gold measuring cups took my homeowner joy to a whole new level.
Here’s some other finds I have my eyes on!
